Affordable Soundproofing an Apartment Celing

Hello,

So I just rented this apartment which happens to have an absolutely awful separation between my unit and the unit above.
I'm looking for a very affordable way to improve my situation and wanted to know what you thought of this:

I'm thinking about getting some styrofoam:

Covering the top part with this:

And then applying green glue on top of that:

Do you think this would help? I know it wouldn't look good, but that's the least of my worries right now.

This system will not work for impact noise nor airborne sound coming through the assembly.
Are you doing the soundproofing for impact noise(walking) or just for airborne noise(TV talking)??

It's mainly impact noise.
