MPP microperforated panels

Hi, does any one here have any experience of microperforated panels for soundproofing engines?

I am looking for some thing fireproof, like a heat shield for soundproofing an engine and found this soundproofing material, Acustimet, http://sontech.se/sv/en/downloading/micro-perforated-panels/?

Does it work like a soundabsorber and still be that thin?

Does any one have any god links or paper on that kind of materials?

Thanks
