will this work for a loud band

My shop area is 25x21x8ft I want to build a room within a room for drum practice and the occasional full band.

The shop shares a "party" wall with the rest of my house and has a vaulted attic, shop is on concrete slab and finished plaster walls
there are three budget windows that I will plug.

the plan was to build a 17 x 14 room within a room connected only at the ceiling.
Staggered stud construction with 2 layers of 5/8 sheetrock (greenglued) on inside, r13 insulation
and one layer of 5/8 outside. Sealed solid core door and 6" sound controlled ventilation system.
and sealing: caulking, putty pads, etc

For the ceiling I (was) going to put up one layer of MDF first then MLV, then a layer of 5/8 sheet rock, then frame in the walls under that.

I'm looking at about a $5000 budget and now after doing some research here I am concerned about triple leaf effect and
connecting to the existing ceiling.

any advice would be great, thanks.

ok, you are on the right track.
you should build double frame walls not staggered stud this way you will not have to worry about the shared wall with the house.
The ceiling design concerns me so this is where I tell you to contact me direct so we can discuss options and what will be the end effect of each option.

I look forward to hearing from you
