Common wall (neighbors have pre-wired speakers on their side)
« on: September 15, 2016, 12:04:24 AM »
Just moved into a new build condo and have neighbors who have pre-wired speakers installed on their side of the common wall.  The problem is most pronounced in the share living room wall, but also travels up to the bedroom above.  I'm willing to seriously soundproof this wall beyond what the builder did for both my peace of mind and resale value, but I think I have to consider both sound and vibration (they love their club music with the loud bass beat). Will something like the resilient sound clips cover both issues or is there a need for a dual solution?

If the speakers are installed "On the wall" there is a good chance of getting noise reduction with a standard decoupled wall system.
If the speaker are " In the wall " this would require a lot more work to reduce the noise and require a new wall build. not to mention addressing flanking wall and ceilings.

Best to call me direct to discuss options and potential noise reduction values.
