6 inch hollow vs double hollow
« on: January 22, 2017, 01:50:03 AM »
HI
I own a dance school & my dance studios have just gone through a massive renovation. The contractor was contracted to provide a double hollow on a shared wall to soundproof my studios. Instead they put in a 6 inch hollow. I would like to know the difference between a double hollow vs a 6 inch hollow. Does that mean less material was used?

Sorry to say that even with double hollow doors this is absolutely not adequate for soundproofing.

All doors for soundproofing must be solid core and as heavy as possible.

the door weight should match the wall weight at minimum.
