I'm purchasing a townhouse that is under construction. The common wall is currently as follows:
2x4 wood frame, 5" open cavity, 2x4 wood frame. The wood framing is fastened to wooden floor joists resting on a common concrete wall below on the first floor, wooden ceiling joists above, and to wooden subfloor on the second floor at the bottom, and wooden ceiling joists above . The cavity runs two stories up, until it reaches the wooden roof joists, which tie the units together.
What is the recommended soundproofing products and procedures to soundproof between the units?
