We just installed the Super Soundproofing Floor Mat (the one with the foam backing) in the laundry rooms of our condo building. They appear to be working great in reducing the sound and vibration.
However, our maintenance person installed the pads with the foam backing facing UP. I had instructed him to install the pads with the foam backing DOWN, so the foam touches the floor surface, and the vinyl is visible. He said he thought having the foam backing facing UP helped in preventing the machines from vibrating and moving.
Which installation method is correct? Thanks very much! Also, will putting more layers of the soundproofing mat under the machines increase the sound/vibration absorption?
