House on semi-busy street
« on: February 18, 2002, 05:19:01 PM »
My house is 70-80 feet off a semi-busy street. Cars are not really a problem but the occasional truck that goes by either really early or late gets to me. The house is on an incline so it gets hit with all the sound waves. It was built in 1966 and it has fiberglass insulation everywhere facing the exterior. It also has vinyl siding and double-pane vinyl windows. I'd like to figure out the most effective method of minimizing street noise with the minimum amount of work. Cost is not a problem, Having the house and the rooms out of commission is the problem.
Thanks
Constantine

Constantine,
It sounds like you may have a problem with your windows. They may be thermal windows, but not necessarily acoustical type. You may want to give B.J Nash or myself a call. (760) 749-7049. I think we can help.
