Noise vs ventilation fan

I've browse through most of your FAQs listing but still have a question in mind. For a soundproofed room, ventilation will become a problem as all the ventilation openings and windows are sealed. Unless one were to instal an air conditioner (another big investment), it may be difficult for one to sleep inside the room. What if I were to instal a suction/ventilation fan (which is cheaper than air-cond.) which sucks air from inside the room to outside hence allowing some fresh air to seeps through the half inch opening at the base of the door, will this ruin the soundproofing features of the room? Can noise travel against the movement of gushing air from inside to outside of the room?
PS. This is a very useful and great site...keep it up!
