Crate Training a Dog
« on: April 04, 2002, 04:24:18 PM »
I have a puppy who whines and yelps quite loudly when she goes in her crate and we (the wife and I) step out.
Eventually, through proper training, we know the noise will come to an end but in the meanwhile we don't want to alienate our condo neighbors.
What's the best fast solution - not to mention, most cost efficient for a temporary problem - for this?
Thanks.

G-Man,
I am not exactly sure what a dog crate actually is, but if it like a small dog kennel or carrier, you could line the indides with SSP closed cell foam, and that would curb a lot of the noise from the puppy. Dog barking is right up there with impact noise as one of the toughest sounds to block. If your crate has a roof on it and the sound can be contained, I feel this will be quite effective for you as this mat both blocks and absorbs. I would recommend the 1" thick mat. Give us a call @ (760) 749-7049. Thanks G-Man
