Soundproofing foam in an apartment
« on: June 20, 2002, 09:02:41 PM »
I share a wall with neighbors on each side of me.  One side the shared wall is very very small and the other is the length of the apartment.  I live in a townhome, so I don't have people above or below me, just to the sides.  I'm a DJ and producer and like to spin as loud as possible.  I have set all my levels as to not to disturb my neighbors, but would really like to turn in up in my studio.  I'm wondering how effective the soundproofing foam that is sold on this site is?  I would do all of the walls and the ceiling near the shared walls.  Would this be worth the time and money?  As you can tell, I have no experience with this sort of thing.  Thanks in advance for any info.

Stan,
Go to the website and on the Homepage scroll down to the yellow box and click on party walls, and read about all the options there are for folks in a condo/townhouse situation, or you can go to: http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/channel.htm
or  http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/curtains.htm
Good luck in all your soundproofing endeavors
