sound proofing our bedroom window...

our bedroom faces the highway and can't sleep at night because of all the semi's passing by.  Can you please help?

Gan,
You may want to consider a window plug made up of the  SSP 2" closed cell foam mat. This material makes an excellent sound block and absorbtion agent. It will block out the light of course, but if this is for your bedroom the lack of light should not be a factor. It can easily be removed in the morning to allow the light into the room.
Another option would be the window within a window concept, as in the "Magnet Seal" windows. You can read more about these window inserts on our website. www.soundproofing.org (click on link below).

In addition, acoustical curtains may be an alternative.  We have some a number of different, reasonably priced, slightly used ones on the site at the link below!
