MLV without drywall?
« on: January 07, 2003, 01:10:38 AM »
I just moved into an apartment with extremely thin walls and am looking for ways to cut down on the transfer of noise between units in this small 4-plex.  The common walls are actually in closets, so I am thinking of putting up mass loaded vinyl on the closet walls, but there would be no room for drywall over that.  Would this still be an effective way to reduce noise from the adjacent unit?  It doesn't need to be soundPROOF, just something that significantly reduces noise from traveling so easily through the walls.  Also, what would be the easiest way to attach the MLV to the closet walls?  Thanks for your input.
