I would like to use 3/8 inch ceramic tile floor over wonderboard, durock or similar, for upstairs bathrooms and over homasote in halls and kitchen. Does the ceramic tile have any sound control qualities? Would the sound control qualities be better or worse than vinyl or carpet and pad?  Which is superior for sound control carpet and pad or vinyl.

A:  Generally, ceramic tile transmits sound very well, so it would be less effective than a vinyl barrier and carpet and padding.  Mass loaded vinyl is far superior to carpet and padding.

Hello

I would like to use ceramic tile floor designs because it is very convenient and reflects our creative side and eye for appreciable designs. Many people are like to use ceramic tile floor as it makes the entire house beautiful and floors very attractive and comfortable.

Thanks

Hi

I dont know what wonderboard is or mass loaded vynl and if they can be tiled on,but you can just use a 3/4mm rubber sound mat designed to be tiled on.They can just be glued down.here in the uk the main supplier I know is Regupol and there in America i think its Laticrete.
