Road noise via a Window help
« on: January 08, 2003, 06:06:59 AM »
I just installed some Magnetite windows over some rather large windows I have in our master bedroom. They were 72X40. It reduced the road and car sound by about 60%…enough of a reduction to justify the cost of about $100 per window. The irritating frequencies at the low end are still there (but muffled). I expected that. I did the installation myself. After buying the material online I now know I could go to the home supply and/or appliance parts store and get the parts myself. I bet I could cut the price in half, if not more. It worked well.
