soundproofing a door

Hi! Just thought I'd mention that this is a great site, with some very good suggestions.
I think I understand the basics of soundproofing my door (which is unfortunately hollow-core), but was wondering if someone could clarify the "opening of the door panel" to install some acoustical mat.
I just hope I have it right: I can attach some MLV to the inside of my door, seal the gaps with acoustical tape and a transom on the bottom... is there anything else I can do to really make this door completely soundproof?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much
