different common wall noise problem

Hi Folks,
Like others who have written, I too live in rowhouse.
My common wall is a stud wall with 'safe and sound' insulation and drywall. Sometimes I can plainly hear conversations and I would like to change that ...
Would there be any noise reduction if I fastened acoustic channel and another layer of drywall on top of the existing drywall? This would be a lot less invasive and disruptive than removing the existing drywall.
Yur help, comments and product recommendations are much appreciated.
