Me,
As stated on the website, we don't recommend trying to soundproof a hollow core door. These doors are paper thin, and it is nearly impossible to soundproof them. I suggest that you purchase a solid core door at Home Depot, or Lowe's, and then to soundproof that.
If changing the hollow core door is not a possibility, you can do a few things to the door that might help. One would be to adhere closed cell foam mat to the back of the door, and also to apply some of the SSP closed cell foam tape to the door jab itself, in the areas where the door meets the jab. Lastly, you will need to make sure that there are no light leaks from the bottom of the door, a transom seal can deal with that, if it is a problem.
I suggest that you go back to the website
www.soundproofing.org
and on the home page, in the yellow box, click on the link to doors. Read this carefully to learn the truths and myths about soundproofing doors. Thanks for the post Me, and I hope to hear from you soon.
