Reducing sound in a block garage for music

I practice in a cinder-block garage with low but dropped ceiling. The drum noise is awful, makes the guitars crank up. Would putting some type of barrier around the drums help? Would putting any of your products (blankets, acoustic panels) help get down the noise?

A: Yes, you need a temporary sound barrier for the drums: Here's how to make one.  Cut a sheet of 4'X8' soundboard or Homasote in half, creating 2 4' panels. Hinge them in the middle and cover with 1" soundproofing foam. (Use contact cement).  lay this "V" on it's side facing the drums. The unit can be folded out of the way for storage.
