soundproofing
« on: January 28, 2001, 03:54:46 AM »
We desperately need to soundproof a mobile unit that is used as a "Club House" in our retirement community.  We are unable to put carpeting on floor as facilities are used for dancing and "pot-luck" suppers.
The echo and noise when the facilities are occupied,is just horrible.
The facility is what we believe to be a double wide construction trailer.  Is there some materials we can put on the existing paneled walls to alleviate this problem?
Thank you.

A: Yes, the walls are the problem; too much reflection.  Curtains would work well.  Also making soundproofing panels by cementing our sound absorbent mat to 4'X8' backing board will work better.
