how much curtain, & how to cut?
« on: August 04, 2003, 04:25:28 PM »

I want to get soundproofing curtains for a sliding glass door that is approx. 82" high and 103" wide.

How much width should I actually buy to accomodate the folds in the curtains and still cover the whole 103" width?

Also, what kind of tool is best of cutting the curtains? I'd imagine they're way too heavy to use scissors...

We really don't recommend cutting the curtains as they work much better as one piece, more like a barrier or membrane. The curtains should not be stretched out and should overlap the sliding glass door or window frame by at least 1 foot on either side. The curtain must remain furrled, much like a flag, to be the moist effective. Also, the outer edges of the curtain should be adhered to the adjoining walls using either double stick tape or Velcro.
Brent, I hope this answers your questions about soundproof curtains. Thanks for the post.
