Title: Piano on a common wall
Post by: Davekingca on March 22, 2004, 08:31:39 PM
Hi,

I live in a semi-detached cottage and share a common wall with my neighbors.

Up unitil recently I have been putting up with the heavy footsteps and tv. But they recently placed an upright piano on the common wall.

It's horrible, I can hear it all through the house, and worse then that, even though it's on the other side of the wall, and one floor down you can hear it more in my 1 year old's room (who already has sleep problems).

Talking to them is usless.

Any suggestions on dampening the sound of a piano?

Will I have to tear apart the floors (or ceilings) to insulate between the floor joists?

Help!
