Title: Pounding noise from upstairs neighbors
Post by: Rob on October 18, 2004, 06:34:03 AM

I have crazy neighbors upstairs. I live in a brick fireproof building in NYC. I assume it's concrete construction.

They have hardwood floors and 2 kids running back and forth every night. Also furniture moving, heavy walking, piano playing, sceaming, etc...

We don't have alot of money to spend on a solution and the landlord and neighbors don't care.

Someone recommended something called Sound Stop. The company is Celotex and it's sold as a "sound deadening board." It comes in 4'x8' boards 1/2 inch thick and can be either glued to or drilled into the ceiling.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What was the cost (per sq ft) and what does the finish look like?
