Title: Soundproofing basement ceiling without drywall
Post by: Scott Pattinson on October 21, 2004, 09:55:06 PM
We are renovating our basement, and would like to soundproof from foot traffic etc above.  We do not plan to drywall, but would rather use beadboard or plywood.  We do not want a dropped ceiling, due to reduced ceiling height.

How do we soundproof when we plan to attach the plywood or beadboard directly to the joists, or maybe with furring strips?

Thanks for any help.
