Title: echo in duplex house

hi
  We have recently moved into our newly constructed duplex house.we are having the problem of echoing..There is echo for even slightest sounds .like while talking on phone or for normal voice..Can you please suggest me how to avoid this..

Any room needs 20-40% of total area to be absorbent.  This can me done many ways, carpet, overstuffed furniture, draperies, etc.
