Title: Soundproofing First Floor Roof Deck
Post by: rev123 on April 23, 2007, 11:11:20 PM
Hi,

I have a roof deck on the first floor of an addition.  The roof deck is surronded on three sides.  Two of the sides are brick walls and the third stucco wall, which faces the guard wall/railing, is my neighbors' house.  The sound from us being out on the roof deck travels over the stucco wall and into their house.  How do I do something to prevent the noise from bothering them?

Thanks.

First idea: by not making the noise in the first place.

Second idea:  completely enclose the deck.

Sound travels through air in all directions.  If the deck is open, the sound is gonna reach their ears and bother them.  Duh.
