Title: traffic noise and fireplaces
Post by: adam2525 on October 04, 2007, 03:59:18 PM
Is there any way that I can prevent trafficnoise coming into our bedroom via the fireplace. The fireplace  is unused and will never be used. Also we dont want to lose the fireplace. So, is there anyway we can  stop traffic noise coming down the chimney.

Thanks,
Adam

A piece of 2" thick foam mat cut to fit in the fireplace opening should work.

It's at the chart at the top of this page:
