Title: Cheapest, easiest, and most effective way to sound proof my door?
Post by: lukensea on March 28, 2010, 07:24:26 PM
I'm a college student - I rent a house with 3 other roommates and my bedroom is downstairs right off of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the ceilings are very tall and the kitchen is bare with tile floors making it very echo-y. Every single noise in the kitchen is amplified and sounds like its happening right in my room. I need to find a way to soundproof my door cheaply but effectively. I've been looking into buying a sound blanket to hang over one side and then possibly getting some acoustical foam to put on the other (I'll also need a portable doorsweep for the noise sneaking underneath).

I'm not sure what the best products or solutions would be. Like I said, I need this to be as cheap and easy as possible!

Thanks!
