Title: floating riser?
Post by: michael on December 22, 2000, 02:06:02 AM

hi,
i'm thinking of building a floating riser for a piano or to float part of the floor of a music room to avoid potential problems. would this be beneficial or would i really have to float the entire floor to see results?
thanks,
michael

If this is not done correctly, you can create an amplifying "drum Head" effect!  Some have had success by loading a  platform with sand, suspending it above the floor.
