Title: Sliding glass doors
Post by: TWLH on March 27, 2012, 05:23:30 PM
I have some sliding glass doors and was wondering if a clear dampening film would make much difference.

If so, does anyone know anywhere online I could buy? I've been searching with no luck
Thanks.

direct applied films only change the resonance of the glass itself, we view it more like a band-aid approach...10% change at best.

The best solution is to install a second slider with an air gap...far better reduction 50%+

Thanks Randy. I'll work one step at a time then, office, then go from there.

If you add a slider or change the existing one, make sure that the glass is either laminated or thermopane for better soundproofing.

There are various firms from where you can buy, you just have to find the relevant which provide you better quality decorative glass doors.
