Title: Green glue L Bracket for MagnaSeal window
Post by: kjburg on April 08, 2012, 08:44:58 PM
It says in the description for the magnaseal window that it would need screws to attach the L bracket frame.  Would it be better to attach it with green glue or similar to dampen the transfer from the surfaces.  It already says to fill any gaps with caulk, is there a certain sound reducing caulk that would be best?

Green glue is not adhesive...it is a dampening compound do Not use this product as an adhesive.

You should use screws and acoustical caulking....even if you use a silicone...you dont need much unless your doing multiple windows.

some have use adhesive instead of screws, just use caution so you dont get any on the plum face of the L- Frame. It will cause an issue with creating the seal with the magnetic tape.

Randy I just put up my first MagnaSeal window. Would weather stripping along the L Bracket work to close any gaps? The gaps are minimal but I do see light.

if your sure you can make an air tight seal...if not go get a small tube and tile caulk from home depot if need be.. I know our tubes are to big for this small of a job..
