Title: uncurling the mass-loaded vinyl
Post by: llvora on May 11, 2012, 02:33:14 AM
Any tips about getting the curl out of the mass-loaded vinyl, that comes from being rolled up?
If you're using it as a curtain, how do you get the curtain to hang flat?
I'm wondering for the future, for this particular job I straightened the vinyl by taping flat things to it.
thanks
Laura

MLV needs to lay flat and acclimate and if your still having some trouble you can use a hair dryer of heat gun to speed things up...

How long does it need to be flat to get the memory of the curl out of it?
I curled it the opposite way overnight but that wasn't long enough.

what thickness did you purchase 1/8" or 1/4" MLV?

Yes, I'm the one with the air turbine and I bought some mlv from you.

This is unusual, ok, unroll the material and place flat on floor curl side up... then put a piece of wood or heavy objects covering the curl area let sit for 24 hours...at room temperature. this should uncurl the material...let me know if this solves the problem.
