Title: Soundproofing open entryway
Post by: Ralberts on March 18, 2016, 04:10:54 AM
I practice mandolin in my home office (20'x20'). The entryway to the office is an opening 44" wide x 76" high with no door. I need a solution to eliminate or greatly reduce sounds leaving the office but cannot hang a door.

Would accoustic curtains or accoustic blankets hung over the opening work? If so please recommend products.

Curtains do not deliver the type of sound reduction that a solid core door would.

The curtain value at best might be a 10%- 15% reduction.
