Title: Windows rated with db RW
Post by: monarch on May 20, 2017, 04:42:40 AM
I've been looking into acoustical windows for a few months. My house has a lot of unwanted sound originating from the outside: people talking/shouting, motorcycles, and music - both from passing vehicles and a bar that is about a 1/2 block away.

I spoke with a rep from Bieber windows. They use the db RW metric to profile the sound attenuation of their glass. He quoted a price for a window rated at 48 db RW. I'm wondering how I can estimate the impact of applying these windows in my bedroom.

What is the frequency range to which db RW applies?

RW testing ranges from 100hz and 3150hz,
Bieber windows are good soundproofing windows, they are pricey but work.
you can also check Milgard quiet line if you are in the US.
