Title: Noise From Furnace Return Vent
Post by: Neil on April 23, 2002, 02:48:07 PM

My furnace room is below my living room.
A cold air return vent, 11 inches by 24 inches in the Floor of living room, goes  down in a 9 and a half foot run to the furnace.
Could I put some sort of Pyramid Panels INSIDE this duct to reduce noise ? and if so....How much of the duct would I have to do ?

Neil,
You can always wrap the furnace ducting with SSP foam material,(The thicker the better) and if you are able to get inside of the duct, you could also line the inside vent with the foam material. this would be very effective in quieting the ducting. Hope this helps. When you are ready call us @ (760)749-7049
