Post by: jack green on June 26, 2002, 04:57:59 PM
We can hear snoring thorugh condo wall - i have filled the interior wall with cellulose, hung soundbloc (1/2 inch) and homosote (1/2 inch) and I am going to hang resilent channel with 2 layers of gyspum X (5/8 inch) with sound absorbing insulation between floating wall and solid wall - does anyone else have any better sugestions.

Jack,
Instead of the RC, I would seriously consider the SSP sound clips and furring channel (hat track) This system will give you a higher STC rating on your wall than will the RC, and if you use this in conjunction with the Mass loaded vinyl material, the snoring noises should be a thing of the past. Good luck
