Title: channels and NRC's
Post by: Scott on January 22, 2001, 03:28:13 AM
I understand the furring strips go at a right angle to the joists if put on an
existing ceiling then the RC 1's go at a right angle
to them. Do furring strips go at a right angle to studs
if put on existing wall? Also what is the NRC rating of
the Super Soungproofing mat at 1/4 inch and at 3/8 inch?
And what is the absorption coefficient per square foot?
This will be cemented to the inside of new drywall before
RC 1........Thanks.........

A: Yes, always at right angle to the studding.  NRC depends on the materials it's adherded to...
