Title: Drummer needs help
Post by: Jim Stevens on September 16, 2005, 03:59:39 AM
I need help please.I would like to reduce as much noise as possible or even soundproof the room that I practice my drums at home in.The room is in the basement of a 4 level backsplit, with 2 of the walls being foundation walls(1 goes under the garage)the other 2 walls are regular drywalled walls.I would like to keep all the drywall intact and was wondering if there was anything I hang or put on the walls to do this?Such as eggshell acoustical foam, without building double walls  or floating walls as the room is not very large and I would like to not annoy neighbors and family anymore while practising.

thanks . Jim

Since you want to keep the existing drywall then you should use Green Glue and second layer of drywall.
Then if you want to work on the acoustics in the room you can use pyramids and bass traps.
