Title: soundproofing elevator wall

hi i'm new here and new to soundproofing. i just rented a place and my bedroom wall is part of the elevator shaft and when the elevator runs i can hear it quite well. is there anything i can use that i don't have to permanently attach to the wall to drown out this sound? thanks. tony

It is hard to soundproof walls without permanently attaching soundproofing materials.

We have heard of your type of sound problem before. Have you talked with the landlord to see  if they will allow you to try and solve the problem?

Products like Mass Loaded Vinyl and additional layers of dry wall can help.

Did you get any helpful suggestions to this problem? My bedroom wall is also the shared elevator wall, and I'm unable to sleep.
