Title: Room under a Stairway
Post by: mmurray on April 29, 2009, 12:33:43 AM
We live in a basement apartment and my daughter's nursery is in a small room that shares the wall/ceiling with the stairway leading up from their section of the basement to their main floor apartment, any time she cries my neighbors upstairs can hear her quite clearly. Will the Green Glue be effective, or do I need to do something else?

I would suggest that you add a layer of MLV w/psa the apply green glue to back of 5/8" drywall.

Also if the door is a hollow core door and leads to the stairway you should change it to a solid core door and address any air leaks around the door.
