hi,,

im living on a main road on a corner block and the traffic is becoming real anoying and making the back yard to noisy to enjoy...
i have looking at the best and cheapest way to solve the prolem of excessive noise and have come up with an idea and would like your thought on it

purchase some 2.4mx1.2mx8mm plywood sheets and get some greenglue and put it between the 2 sheets and glue them together and have it so the fence will be 2.4m high

would this idea be effective in reducing the sound from traffic .....

Sorry, your idea will yield very little results if any.....
When dealing with outside noise(road noise) you need MASS and Height lots of it....
Cinder block wall filled with sand or concrete 8'-10' high at least and as close to the noise source as possible.
Also keep in mind that distance will play a huge role in this as well, the further the wall is from the source the higher chance of sound flanking over the top of the wall.
We have had people use MLV on a wood fence with modest results, but again results can vary.
