shredded mass loaded vinyl?

Theoretically, would shredded mass loaded vinyl mixed in with other product like cellulose (or somehow mixed in foam insulation) provide improved sound blocking?  Has anything like that been tried or being researched?

My guess it could at least help some situations as it would add more mass then the plain insulation alone but may not be cost effective.

Well if your sheet rock is not decoupled from the structure it wouldn't make a difference because the main path still exists. So it would not be cost effective.

The other potential problem would come from the weight of mass loaded vinyl, even cellulose has a tendency to settle in walls and create a gap at the top..I'm sure the mix would compress even more..

Cotton fiber insulation has achieved this goal by using recycled denim blue jeans, a nice mix of STC (mass/ density) and NRC (absorption) for a competitive cost.
